Many of us realize that our sense of smell affects a lot in our lives; for instance if you are driving past a restaurant and you smell food you might become hungry. Our sense of smell also helps determine our mood, brain power and amount of energy we have from day to day. Take a look at some of these smells that will help turbo charge your day!

Scents that help control appetite:

Smelling some scents can help us control our appetite by psyching out our brain! Smelling these aromas often can make our brain believe we are truly eating them. This will help reduce our appetite! In many studies people that inhaled these aromas had the reported desired effects:

Chocolate-like Aromas:

It was reported that in a research study of over 100 people who sniffed chocolate-like aromas lost 3 lbs in 2 weeks time.

Green apples-Banana-peppermint Aromas:

It was reported that people who smelled these aromas lost an average of 30lbs. in a 6 month time frame.

Boosting Energy Levels:

When trying to boost your energy levels you should smell the following scents it will awaken your senses as well as your alertness. It is also said that these scents can help you burn more calories:

  • Jasmine
  • Strawberries
  • Buttered popcorn

Men are typically stimulated by the scents of-

  • Pumpkin Pie

These smells can increase the blood flow to their penis by around 40% just by smelling them!

  • And women’s fragrances

These scents will increase their stimulation as well but may not have such as strong effect on them.

Most women are picky when it comes to smells. Everyone has different effects when it comes to different aromas except when it comes to these:

However just as with stimulants some women have some turnoff as well you maybe surprised what they are:

Lowering Anxiety through your sense of smell:

Many of us do not like to speak on the subject of anxiety and though many of us have encountered it at some point others experience it more then normal. Studies have shown that when one becomes anxious it is beneficial to smell aromas of:

  • Green Apples
  • Cucumbers

It is also said that when you wash your hair with green apple scented shampoos it will calm you in nervous situations.

For memory power and retention take a whiff of some floral scents while reading new information and then smell it again to remember it. Floral scents are said to increase information retention by 17%!

Our sense of smell truly does improve our way of life and the effectiveness of our bodies both emotionally and physically. You can improve all aspects of your life if you just “Stop to smell the roses”!
