Understanding the Bach Flower Remedies

By: Guy Starbuck

In the 1930’s Dr. Edward Bach created 38 plant and flower remedies. They address emotional and physical problems alike. The remedies can be safely used on children and animals. They are effective and work relatively quickly.

The Rescue remedy is available in the pharmacy and is among the most famous. The rescue remedy is a combination of five of his remedies and is used for stress and anxiety after accidents or arguments. The Remedy also helps those who are preparing for surgery.

Flower remedies are recommended for getting to the root causes of your emotional and mental ailments and he suggests you use a homoeopathy remedy for your physical symptoms. Flower remedies can help with treating emotional side-effects you use while on conventional medications; for things like depression and anxiety.

Grouping the remedies is best done by emotional group such as:

  • Fear
  • Uncertainty
  • Loneliness
  • Oversensitivity
  • Lack of interest
  • Despair

These seven groups work well with the flower remedies and conventional medicine has little to offer them. It was stated that Dr. Bach used a mixture of homeopathic and allopathic medicines to make his remedies. He also used the remedies on his self first to see if the medicines were helping. The remedies are said to be used on other animals such as birds though they should be diluted before using them.

Dr. Edward Bach originally studied conventional medicine. He studied at the University College Hospital that was located in London where he also was an in house doctor. Many liked his way of remedy because he allowed them to make their own remedies per his instructions giving them some bit of power in healing themselves. There has been a large increase in the number of Bach flower remedies used today and though Bach felt his treatments were complete is only human to feed curiosity.

Dr. Bach was a strong believer in using natural remedies to heal ones self and he offered nine remedies originally for acceptance. The Bach flower remedies are widely known now and many people prefer to heal themselves though with little in the way of emotional healing in conventional medicine we can all see why the remedies are getting such success.

The Bach Flower remedies are said to be very successful healing tools for many situations such as stress and anxiety. While other conventional medications can have extreme side effects and be harmfully addictive the natural ingredients in the Bach Flower remedies have none. Looking into these natural healing methods it is good for things like recovery from surgery or anxiety going in; everyday stress of life and clinical depression.

There are still many skeptics when it comes to the Bach Flower remedies however with all medicines effective or not there has and always be skepticism. The increase in harmful side effects of conventional medications is on the rise and many people are growing weary of taking these prescribed medications. The ways of natural healing and ingredients that go into them have been growing wild for centuries. They have used them for generations upon generations and will for years to come. Deciding which way is right for you is your responsibility and your way of life.
